Funny Character Pillows (Kid's gifts)

Funny Character pillows for the kids for Christmas!  Above is the Japanese character "ponyo".  Below are penguins, Yoda, a pig and a pillow fight pillow.
You don't need a pattern, just start with a square and place the eyes where you want them.  Then sew it on once it's like you like it!  Fun!  My kids still have these from years ago!

Winter Pillows

More WINTER pillows.  Made the same way as the others.  Embroidery floss for the words.  Freehand the words to look more crafty.  I aslo attached a snowflake button or two.  We put these pillows up in January.

Snowflake pillow!

This is so fun to make!  Just cut out a snowflake out of felt instead of paper.  Then you stitch it onto a pillow.  You can tell ours is super old, but it's a fun idea for the kids.  Remember to keep the detail simple on the snowflake.  Stuff it and blanket stitch it.

Christmas stockings (Handmade)

We make our stockings for our kids, cause they're so personal and not hard!  You just cut out a stocking shape out of felt. Cut out some shapes of a design you want on it.  I made a cup of cocoa, with whip cream, a candy cane, and marshmallows around the bottom.  They don't have to be perfect.  That's what makes them cute!

Then you simply stitch them on with embroidery floss.  After the front is done, you sew the back and front together and then blanket stitch the sides.  Originally I used fabric paint to write the names on.  I wanted to keep them all matching so, each time we have a child I use the others as templates to copy.  Simple, a little time consuming, but fun! And another item to hand into the county fair next year!  Ha!

Christmas Paper Crafts

Here are a couple of
Christmas Crafts we've made....
Super simple!
Made completely from paper and super cheap!
Tutorials are all on line.  I' just giving ideas of cheap easy deco.  We got all the paper at yard sales through the year!  The paper doesn't even have to match, like a calico quilt!  It gives a home made feel!  And you can dump the deco after the party since it's just paper.

Here are pictures of how we made the twisty star.  I used hot glue to glue it.  You could also use glue dots, but hot glue was cheaper.  Cit out 6 squares.  Fold them into a triangle and make 3 cuts.  Then alternate the direction you glue it.  I hope this makes sense.  If not, you can google it :)
