ARRRRR Matey!
Above: The party favor bags were filled with goldfish crackers, candy necklaces, gold coins, and water balloons (not filled yet), of course!
Below: We fished over the patio where the kids each got a toy shovel.
Then they threw water balloons (cannon balls) into a bucket, which we called captain "Hook's" ship.
Then they walked the plank, slid down the slide.) Next they tossed the ring on the hook. Then they diged for buried treasure, which consisted of toys from yard sales and the dollar store, which were in ziploc baggies and buried.
Don't forget to have all your little guests and friends dress up like pirates. For the cupcakes we made treasure chests out of kit kats that we halfed in half. We placed them on cupcakes that had been frosted
blue (for the ocean) and brown (for the ground). We placed a few chocolate rocks around them. Used yellow frosting to make the chest straps, and to put inside the chest. It looked like gold, plus it was like glue for the colorful nerds to stick to. They looked like treasure. Then we placed a pirate sword in each cupcake for looks. We actually had different types of cupcakes, but these were the funnest!
Here is a copy of the treasure map we made. Basically you make up what you want to do first, then make your map, taking you from one activity to the next! So simple, but soooo fun for the kids! They loved it. The activities were super simple and took a few minutes each. Depending on the
age of the children, you can go more
or less detailed. Also for party hats we made simple paper pirate hats. We spent most of the time letting the kids eat cake and ice cream and play in the yard.
Ahoy!

Wow! What clever ideas! I love the water balloon cannon balls, and that pirate chest cupcake looks scrumptious!! Awesome!!
