These are a family tradition each year for my kids. We make simple sugar cookie dough, and color it red, white and blue. They make star shapes and then as soon as they come out of the oven you slip a kabob stick into them. They harden as they cool . They are like the sparklers that kids love at the holidays! They can be placed in a vase till their eaten on the fourth of July. They're almost more fun to make than to eat. Some years they've been frosted, some years sugared, some plain.
A new idea is to lightly frost then add "pop rocks". Happy Fourth!
